Our Story
Own Your Wellness
I’m Dr. Tes Jordens—a board-certified Obesity Medicine physician and Menopause Society-certified provider. I founded 1988 to offer midlife women the personalized, evidence-based care they deserve. Rooted in listening, education, and whole-person healing, my work is more than medicine—it’s a mission to help women feel seen, supported, and strong.

Mission
We help midlife women take charge of their health with personalized, evidence-based care that listens, validates, and empowers—supporting wellness in menopause, weight care, nutrition, movement, and mindset.
Vision
A future where every midlife woman feels seen, supported, and strong—guided by whole-person care that addresses root causes, not just symptoms, and evolves with her life and goals.
Values
Empowerment, Compassion, Holistic Health, Community and Integrity
What We Do
We specialize in weight care, menopause, and mindset work for women—especially those navigating the complex, confusing, and often-overlooked years of midlife. My approach combines evidence-based medicine with real-world compassion, tailored plans, and ongoing support.
Whether you’re here to feel stronger, manage symptoms, understand your hormones, or simply get answers—you’ll be met with compassion, respect, and the tools to move forward.
Why We Do It
Too many women have been dismissed, misinformed, or made to feel invisible in their own healthcare stories.
I’ve seen what happens when we offer women science and support instead of shame. I believe that empowered women create the most impactful transformations in their lives, especially during midlife.

Our Name
Why 1988?
The name 1988 honors the year the Women’s Business Ownership Act passed, finally allowing women to take out business loans without a male co-signer.
It marks a turning point—a reminder that women can and should own their power.
More than a name, 1988 is a tribute to the women who have fought—and continue to fight—for equity and ownership.
Without their courage, this business and countless others wouldn’t be possible.
